A cutoff low continues to linger near SoCal today, bringing
chances for isolated PM mountain/upper foothills thunderstorms.
Dry and seasonable weather is expected elsewhere. After Thursday,
a warming and drying trend begins that will continue into early
next week with Minor HeatRisk and periodically breezy winds.

-Isolated mountain thunderstorm chances continue.
-Thursday: 5-15%, highest along the Sierra south of I-80.
-Seasonable temperatures with periodically breezy winds.
* Friday - Wednesday:
-Above-normal temperatures return Friday and through the middle of
next week with Minor HeatRisk across the Valley, Delta, and
foothills.
-Expect breezy north winds on Friday mainly through western
portions of the Sacramento Valley. Heading into the
weekend and early next week, diurnally driven winds resume
with increased Delta breeze flow in the afternoons and
evenings.
-Probability of high temperatures 80 degrees F or higher:
- Friday: 20-40%
- Saturday - Sunday: 40-70%
- Monday - Tuesday: 60-80%
- Wednesday: 30-50%

VFR conditions expected over the next 24 hours at TAF sites.
Delta flow will bring marine stratus with periods of MVFR CIGS
through the Delta into the Sacramento metro area through 18Z this
morning, along with SW gusts to 20 kt. These winds are expected to
return 00Z through 09Z Friday. Northerly winds develop today over
the northern Sacramento Valley after 18z, gusting to around 20
kt. There is a 10-15% chance of isolated mountain thunderstorms
from 18Z until 03Z this evening over the Sierra south of Highway
50.
